How Insignificant We Are?

We live in a blue-green piece of rock floating in the vastness of space. Our particular neighborhood is called the Solar System which is ruled by the mighty Sun, a star that provides conditions for sustenance of our civilization and the other phenomenon in our neighborhood. In the vast blackness of space we have other pieces of rock called planets which too are floating around the neighborhood. The peculiar thing is that we all are moving around one

"Maths Again!!!" Why is it like this?

“Math again!!” is what you hear in school whenever a math lesson starts. I just do not understand why it is so hated in school. But maybe I am wrong.  Maybe I am mixing two feelings here, hatred and fear. Is it possible that students are afraid of math? It is quite possible this way. Sometimes it so happens that fear and hatred join hands to cast their effect. And that effect is that students would never wish to study math. Why is it so? Why do students “hate and fear” math? Why do they find it boring? Is it because of math itself or the way it is taught at school? In this article I will explore this topic in detail since I experience the above mentioned situations taking place at my own school.
Alright, so first let us take the fear aspect.

Science behind Sport

Somebody throws a ball in air and you catch it. If I ask how did you do that then a typical answer would be that you knew where the ball was going to drop and you positioned yourself in a way so you can easily catch the ball. If we see the science behind this then there is a different answer to it.
You are through evolution capable of performing this act. Your ancestors had similar experiences and your body is adapted to performing several calculations at once, some conscious and some unconscious ones. . . . .

What is Gravity?

You might have wondered why you fall down while playing or when you lose your balance. You might have sometimes broken a few bones of yours as well. Why do your elders stop you from standing too close to the edge of a building or a place very high? Why do you see the moon every night? Why do you carefully lift a tray carrying glasses and cups? The answers you get are all pointing to one concept; the concepts around which our universe is revolving, that concept is "Gravity". But what is gravity? . . . .

Introduction

I am Shahzaib Ali Abbasi and currently studying in A level. I am from the city Mirpur Mathelo in Pakistan. I have always adored Science and Mathematics and these are my favourite subjects. Particularly interesting to me is Mathematics and Physics. The reason for this is the underlying beauty in these subjects.
A layman or someone outside the scope of science would find it hard to get the beauty of it. The beauty lies in different perspectives. One is the vastness and broadness of it. The other is the precision and concreteness of the principles and theories. And then of course is the simplicity which is the hallmark of science and especially Mathematics. By simplicity, I mean that it is not overly complex. The laws of the world can be described by the simple equations and theories. This aspect of science is what really makes it elegant.
I might be wrong in some views. But this is how we learn. Making mistakes is not bad.
This reminds me of Einstein's quote : "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new".
I am trying something new. So If I make a mistake, please correct me by replying to my posts or through email. I would be most thankful to you.
Till the next post, bye.
